Horner Park North-West Little League (HPNWLL) is 501(c)3 non-profit organization affiliated with Little League International. The purpose of Horner Park North-West Little League is the desire to expand and improve the opportunities for wholesome and healthful activities for members of the organization.

HPNWLL is part of Little League Illinois District 12 which comprises Little Leagues throughout northern Chicago. Illinois District 12 is comprised of HPNWLL, Austin Little League, Garfield Park Little League, Near North Little League, Shabbona Park Little League, and Warren Park Youth Baseball Little League. As part of being Little League, teams will participate with the other Little Leagues in the district and throughout the state during the regular season.

These leagues will then participate in district play for baseball and softball in hopes of reaching the Little League World Series.

Above all, HPNWLL is concerned with the welfare of our children, inclusive of all aspects that Little League and team sports afford – character development; education; skill building and athleticism; health and well-being; and confidence and self-esteem.

HPNWLL has developed the following programs in hopes of achieving these goals.

Baseball Program: Minor C – 50/70 Intermediate ages 4-13.  Leagues play approximately 30 games plus playoffs We provide a comprehensive baseball program that is readily available for everyone in its boundaries. Our affiliation with Little League International affords our players the opportunity to compete at a district, regional, and possibly of participating in Little League World Series.

Teenage Baseball Program: Junior, Senior, Big Leagues ages 14-18. Leagues play approximately 20 games plus playoffs. Our affiliation with Little League International affords our players the opportunity to compete at a district, regional, and possibly of participating in Little League World Series.

Challenger Division:  Ages 4-18. This program is run by Little League District 12 and District 10. This program is designed for mentally and/or physically challenged youth ages 5-18, helping them enjoy the full benefits of Little League Baseball participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities. Playing with the same equipment and in the same fields, Challenger players have the opportunity to experience the joys of pulling together as a team, being cheered, making new friends and earning awards for their achievement.

Outreach Program: HPNWLL realizes that the cornerstone of any well-rounded person is character. Our program hopes to teach youth life skills and aids in tutoring and mentoring of players both off and on the field. During the off-season, we help players with tutoring and high school/college application process. We also are planning for a college visit tour and college scholarship program.

Financial Assistance: HPNWLL understands that every child should have the opportunity to play. With this, we have a variety of programs in which fees can be waived or reduced. The finance committee shall have the necessary discretion to make such waivers or reductions when appropriate to ensure every child has the ability to participate in the program.

It is with these programs that we hope to expand the opportunities of all children in our league.

All volunteers of HPNWLL must undergo an HPNWLL background check every year and abide by our code of conduct policy.
